Swaranjit Singh
Mr. Singh is a dedicated with a strong faith in God. He is humble, caring, kind and God fearing. He is a Sikh from Punjab, India; A visionary who believes very strongly in education and reaching out to people from different communities. Education is the key for communities to understand and strive for racial and ethnic equality. It will bring tolerance, peace and better understanding in our communities. He believes education is the key and permanent solution towards attaining a good life and peace on planet earth.
He is a leader in the real sense of the word. He believes in action rather than mere talk. He strongly believes in contributing and giving back to his adopted homeland. After 9/11 he gave up his full time VP of Sales position to reach out to educate people regarding Islam and Sikh Identity. He reached out to School Districts, DA’s offices, Police Stations, Borough Presidents offices, FAA, TLC commissioner’s office and many other city agencies. He also took steps to reach out to the Spanish community and raised more than $30,000 to distribute free bottled water to Puerto Rican and Ecuadorian communities on their annual day parades. Not only that, he took upon himself to teach English to new Spanish immigrants in Queens. He is a motivational speaker as well. He is working towards reaching out to the inmates in Riker’s Island inmates to make them productive citizens. By profession he is in Real Estate business.
He is a great fan of JFK and believes in his saying that “Think not what your country can do for you; think what you can do for the country.” He is a living example of that. He is always ready to help anyone anytime. He believes there is no place like America for any kind of opportunity and diversity. He believes that one has the option and freedom to choose what one wants to do with our life.
